Your Holy Calling!

 2 Timothy 1:1-12

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ[a] by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

2 To Timothy, a beloved son:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Timothy’s Faith and Heritage

3 I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, 4 greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, 5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Not Ashamed of the Gospel

8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.[b] 12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

The thing I love about Paul is that he was not ashamed.  He was imprisoned, an Ex Christian murderer but when he came to know God he did not let go.  The things he endured would make any of us be ashamed that we are believing in God and that a God we serve will allow such harsh treatment but Paul he was an amazing follower and Apostle.  He knew that all her endured could be done with the power of God.  See our calling is not something that is of Worldly things but it is a Holy calling. It comes straight from the throne.   It has nothing to do with what you do on a daily basis but it is out of his love for you!  He loves you and want to make you Holy, Your calling Holy, Your Children Holy, your finances Holy, All that surrounds you Holy!  If he called you with a Holy calling all that comes into your existence has to line up with what God has said.  Things that happen in our daily lives should not be predicated on our further.   Paul knew this and that is why no matter what he was going through, where he was, the crazy people he encountered He know what his calling was and he knew God had his back.  He was persuaded!   So today saints no matter what may be your trouble remember you have a Holy Calling!

Wednesday Devotional

Psalm 103:1-5 NIV

Praise the Lord , my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord , my soul, and forget not all his benefits—  who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,  who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,  who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Father it is so good to know that you are right where I am. Thanks you for loving me enough to provide a way out for me.  Father as I sit here and many other of your saints going through what I May be going through we are still trusting in your plan and purpose. If you are allowing this it just means that we can overcome it..  I pray you are with me, and the doctors, making sure everything is done to your standards. You are a God of order and decency. Nothing passes your eyes. I thanks you that I am the apple of your eye. That if I submit to you and resist the devil he shall flee according to your word. I trust in you and you alone. Thanks you for the good gifts you blessed me with.  You are awesome in all your ways.  I thanks you for a clear report without spot or blemish.  Bless me with long life and good health as my soul desires. You God are everything to me. In Jesus name I pray amen

Clinging to God Like Little Children

Mark 10:15 NIV

Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter.

God want is to cling to him like children cling to their parents.  God want is to receive the things of him like we need it, depend on it and can't live without unconditionally loving him, and trusting in his plans for us.  My youngest daughter and I send a lot of time together when I get home when I am washing her up and getting her ready for bed.  My 6 year old talk, talk, talk the entire time and I spend 10-12 minutes answering her questions.  So after all her questions she asked me Mommy will you still be able to move around like you do now when you get old.  I told her baby I will still be able to move around and help you. She then said Mommy I love you!  I told her I love her too, and then she said mommy, you know wherever you go, I'm going too.  I'm never going to leave you.  In that moment of my daughter pouring out her true feelings for me God Spoke to me. He said This is how I want you and the rest of my saints to depend on me.  I want you to have that same mindset that wherever I want to take you, you will go, and never leave me. If you do that I will never leave you.  he said Trust me as your father enough to want to follow me wherever I go.

We are the children and God is the father ( the parent).  We should long to depend on and trust in him as our only holy for survival and any type of future.  We have to remind ourselves that without God we can't do anything for him.  That the only reason we have any success is because of his grace alone.

Today's Devotional Your Master Has it Covered!

Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.  John 13:16

This Know that we are not greater than our master helps us to depend on him.  We can't solve our own problems successfully without the help of God.  We can't be really successful in our life without him.  The bible says, A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. Proverbs 16:9 AMP.   You can't do this on your own.  Sometimes we don't realize it but we are saying we are greater than our master which is God when we try and fix things on our own.  When weput forth efforts in our own strength to make important decisions, or to fix problems, that is what we are saying.  You show God that you don't feel you are greater than him but letting him handle what he say he will handle for us!   The master is a good thing he is here to protect us and to do us good!
