Friday Faith Project

Hello Everyone!

About two years ago, I was in Hobby Lobby and saw Faith paper made by Paper Studio. I was so happy I found it and knew I was going to use it down the line. I just want to say, I love Hobby Lobby because they do carry items big box stores do not; faith based paper being one of them!

Today, I pulled out my faith paper and decided to get to work. At my church, we give new members a packet. In the packet, there is a small pad and church information. I thought it would be nice to add a little more but keep everything simple and inexpensive.

For the outside, I let the paper speak for itself. The back cover has the same design, but a different cover. On the back, church information will go there.

The inside covers have to accordion pockets. I wanted to allow room for pens, notes and anything else the recipient can fit in them (a mint perhaps). Then there are sheets they can write personal thoughts, scriptures or sermon titles. I know for me, I like to write (or type if I have my tablet) down various scriptures and refer back to them at a later date. According to Proverbs 7:3, we are to write commands on the tablet of our heart. This is so true, but as a new convert, it is good to write the words on paper and meditate on them until they penetrate the heart.

I hope you enjoyed and is inspired by today's project! Be blessed to be a blessing, Kenya~

Feeling The Heat Of Rejection?

That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.[a]

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own,[b] and His own[c] did not receive Him.

As I am reading and studying this I am so amazed at how much Christ has done for us.  He was the true light and he came to do a great thing for us yet he was not received.   It was one thing to be not be received by outsiders those that do not know better, but he was rejected by those, God had chosen to protect and show himself to on numerous occasions.  How terrible is it to come and finally say here I am, you have been waiting for me all this time and then they say no, you are a devil, you are not of God.  He was not received by his own.  The very people he depended on to help him spread the good news  shot him down.   The reason I am speaking of this scripture today is because we often feel the heat of not being received.  It is one thing to not be received when you were in the world but once  you put on Christ,  you are changed, you are now called righteous, you are now cleansed by  the blood of Jesus and here goes the rejection.    You are loving, caring, helpful, kind, show the love of Christ yet you are still be denied and rejected for great jobs,  Finances, from  children, finances, people to accept you and your life in Christ.  The minute you get angry and you are a Christian you are being rejected and called a fake, or you get the phrase “and you call yourself a Christian”.    All this and you are in Christ?  But my friends, as I read this The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said see he was not received by the outsiders nor his very own.  I said man and sometimes I have felt that this should not happen to me but it happened to my Lord.  Sometimes we forget that we are in an imperfect world and as we are not perfect, others are not either.  We have to learn that not everyone is going to receive us, not everyone is going to give us the response we think we should have or should probably have.  But the one thing you do know is that you are a child of the Most High God!   Don’t let not being received by an employer, family member, someone in your community make you think any less of who God has called you to be.  Jesus was rejected right off hand but when I keep reading we see all the wonderful things he did during his time and ministry here.  He healed the sick, raised the dead, turned water in wine ( New Wine) , forgave of sins,  gave second  changes to be clean and pure.  He did all of that ducking, and disappearing keeping the religious leaders from killing him.  He showed up to those seeking him even watching them while they were searching just like the man under the fig tree.  Your Lord went through it so we will too.  Don’t be discouraged and think you are alone because you are not along.  You share something special with the Son of God. Rejection and not being Received just pushes you in the way you really need to go.

1 Peter 4:12-19

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.[a] On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.[b]

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Now

“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”[c]

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

Friday Faith Project

Todays project is an extension of "The Greatest of These is Love" mini album based 1 Corinthians 13:13.  This scripture says, "Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." So I created a card that reminds us of the gift of hope that we have in the Lord. It reminds me of the promises that await us in His word.

Hope is defined as

1. To look forward to with confidence or expectation
2. Archaic: To have confidence; trust.
I love these definitions!  All the promises of God are yes and amen and these definitions just reinforce that what He has for us is for us! That we can remain confident in the gift of hope that we have; for a future, the hope of His peace, joy, and comfort, the hope of eternal life with Him. And this is just the start of greater things.  AMEN!!!  Whoo, I'm getting myself stirred up and excited and it's time for me to go and have myself a praise party!!

Praise The Lord Faith Project

As I stroll down the aisles at the stores, I notice cards for graduations, new baby, new home, sympathy, wedding, anniversary or humor, but I have yet to see one congratulating someone who decided to make the best decision in life! When a person say they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and believe He dies and rose again for their sins that is worth celebrating! In Luke 15:10 it says, “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (NIV) We should rejoice as well!

Now I am not saying a card does not exist, but I have not seen one yet. So I decided to take on the task of making simple cards congratulating new converts at my church. That is major step that should not be taken lightly! On the inside, it will have a personalized message and the date they made their confession. Hopefully, they will hold on to the card as a constant reminder of their relationship with our Savior! Here is the first one. What do you think? Kenya~

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great Is Thy Faithfulness on Etsy, $15.00

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

As I look back over my life I see that I have not been consumed.  I know this because his love and compassion never fails me.  When I just think about all that I have been through I know that he is faithful! I am so glad that every morning he has a new set of compassion and  grace for me.  That because he gave me so much yesterday it wont take away from today.  He is awesome, in all his ways.  How he loves it just great!  It is gentle, kind, caring and just so very awesome!  Great is Thy Faithfulness!!!!

The Greatest Love Project

The Greatest is Love...

One of my favorite Scriptures is 1 Corinthians 13:13. Now all of chapter 13 is amazing but verse 13 stands out to me and has. As a little girl growing up Catholic (I no longer am) a lot of the Word of God was taught to me in song; it was how I memorized scripture and it was the first way that I learned host to communicate to God. Since prayer was about reciting Hail Marys' and Our Fathers, I used to sing song to God about just about everything. 1 Corinthians 13:13 is one of those songs that I remember singing in my childhood.

The New King James (NKJV) says of this verse, "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." The New Living Translation (NLT) reads as, "Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love."

My project today is centered on this scripture. I made an accordion style mini album (my fav as of late) using Recollections, Union Square 12x12 collection and MME, The Station 6x6 pad. I inked every edge with Studio G pigment ink. and embellished the cover with some additional Twinery twine, and Dress-it-up buttons.

To this day I never ceases to amaze me how God will get our ear. How He will grab our attention to get a Word to us. I love this Scrioture because it speaks of what is most important to God. Verse one of this chapter says that if we do not have Love, then we are nothing but noisemakers. People blowing a lot of hot air, sounding good but not meaning anything we say. Or as the old folks would say, "Saying a whole lot about nothing". It is love that moves people to action, loves that restores and forgives, love that will move Heaven and Earth to get to us.

I pray this project is an inspiration to you and speaks to your heart.

Salvation prayer

Dear God in heaven I come to you in the name of your son jesus christ. I acknowledge that you are God and that your son died on the cross for my sins. I achknowledge that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that your precious son Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross at calvary and died for my sins so that I may have a relationship with you.

I am willing to now turn from my sins.
Your word says in Romans 10:9 that if I confess that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised him from the dead I shall be saved.

So I confess Jesus as Lord, I believe with all my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. I now accept him as my personal Lord and Savior, and according to his word I am SAVED and BORN AGAIN

Praise His Name

lift your hands to the sky and breathe the word in.
Psalm 119:164

Seven times a day and all day long do I praise you, because of your righteous decrees.

I have made a habit out of praising God when I wake up, when I am driving to work and just when I think about his goodness.  Today I was driving from dropping my daughter off to school and as I was praising God just thanking him for his goodness, a weird feeling came over me and I felt like I was going to pass out.   Immediately I slowed down almost to a complete stop in the road and then I got to my Husbands number as fast as I could just in case it got worse.  It lasted about 10 seconds and then passed. As soon as it was over I thanked God and went back to praising him.  I am not sure why I got that feeling but the first time I ever got it, it was from going to muggy air to cold air then back to muggy air. So I am sure of it being that because that is the same weather I experienced today, but the one thing is that I was glad to be in the middle of praising God.  No matter what would have happened, at least I was giving God the praise.  You can never give him too much of it, and you never know when the right time is to be praising him.   Just praise him anytime you have the chance to, when things are bad, praise him, when they are good, praise him, when they are just okay and could be better praise him.  No matter the occasion praise and bless his Holy name for he is Good and greatly to be praised.  Meditate on this Scripture today!

Additional Scripture

Psalm 121:1-8
