How to be that Helpmate

So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

I have been married for 11 years now and I can say that I have learned so much about relationships.  I know what it is to have one before marriage and how it goes while married.  Some suggest that being married is just a piece of paper, but it is more than that.  The minute you say "I Do"  Things change.  You still of course love that person but something in your inner being happens.  For some it is the feeling of ownership, for some it is being extra protective, for some it is even feeling safe, feeling protected and like you are on top of the world.  In all those things you feel something.  Today I want to talk to the ladies about what I have learned about marriage.

We have this idea of the man we want.  When we are dating we go with the flow, we don't try and change the man but as soon as we marry them we want, and expect them to become this different person that we cooked up in our heads, and did not even bother to share with them about, a mystery man.  The main subject within this I want to talk about is Building a Strong Man.  you were created as a helpmate and to help build the inner being of that man.  Adam was strong physically at his job but he lacked strength and his ability to love beyond the animals.  Then there became woman.  Often we work so hard to try and change men, make them into these made up men, sometimes these men that are a combination of celebrities that we like certain things about, often characters we are reading in books and watching on movies but that is not God's way.  How can you build a strong Man?

1. The beauty of being a Woman.  If your spouse can see you loving yourself he can love you his way and give all the love that he can give to his wife.  It is easy to love a woman who knows what she was created for.   It's not about should you work or stay home being a home maker, but loving the beauty of being a woman.  The nurturing part of you, the caring part of you, the instinct of a woman to know when and what her Husband needs.  I can say that at times I can look at my Husband and know what he is needing right in that moment without him saying a word.  What he is thinking about , and what at that moment he needs from me in the form of words when we are having a conversation.  The problem with us is that we are too busy doing what we think we should be doing and not what we know we should be doing.  It is so much easier to do what you know you are created to do than to live a life time trying things and wearing hats that don't fit.  What if you tried for a weeke to do what you were created to do as a wife the biblical way and scratch everything else out?  Something to think about.  Don't listen to everyone about what you are to be doing as a wife.  Listen to what God said.  Yes Steve Harvey has some insighful tips but What about just being that helpmate that God created you to be!
2. Encourage him.  Encouraging him is not telling him what he is doing wrong and then telling him what he need to do.  Encouraging him is saying to him I support your decision and if this does not work, I have your back and we can try something else.   It can even be if he does not like what he is doing with his career, or things he may personally  be dealing with you can say" I support your decision, and if you don't like it, or want to change, we can work through it".  "Something better is out there for you"!  Let him know he is still that Man in your life.  He will love you so much more for your encouragement.  Believe it or not your encouragement makes him successful.  Adam was only half the man he was created to be before Eve, He was able to reach his full potential when God created his helpmate.  So often times we think we are the victims all the time and poor us but not all times this is the case.  We have a convenat with God that as we give ourselves to our husbands as a helpmate, God take care of us.
3.  Do what is right no matter what.  The end is do what is right no matter what.  It can be really hard at times to just not treat people the way you are being treated but do what is right anyway.  God will honor that.  That leaves your conscience clear and your spirit at peace.  Press on, don't give up! God is with you and he knows what he created you for.  As long as you are doing what he created you for from The Rib of Man then Have confidence that he will take care of you and work things out!  I have seen him do it over and over in my life and marriage.  God is serious about the Bond of Marriage and he want it to be as healthy as it can be.

Ending Scripture

1 Peter 3:1-6 NKJV

Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. 3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.

Your Battle His Fight!

 I was reading Joshua last night I read how Joshua never fought any of his battles.  Yes he went into war, he and the Israelites but God fought his battles and he only fought them because he followed God's instructions exactly.  He gave them specific instructions to march around the wall of Jericho, and not to sound the alarm until he said too...How often do we take matters into our own hands?  God gives us instructions and we say okay God I will do it your way but then as soon as the trouble show up we think we know better.  He tells us to wait don't say that, Its not time but we open our mouth and say what we want because the trouble has come.  Joshua's trouble came in front of him and he marched around the enemy's territory The trouble was there but he did not move until God said!  When are we going to just do what God said?  He is waiting to fight every battle for us but we must follow his exact instructions.  We have to choose to give up wanting to control every situation and let our heavenly Father take care of what he said he will take care of for his people.  You are strong and everything you need to be with God and to fight these battles.

Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it.” And he ordered the army, “Advance! March around the city, with an armed guard going ahead of the ark of the Lord.”
When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the Lord went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant followed them. The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark. All this time the trumpets were sounding. 10 But Joshua had commanded the army, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout! 11 So he had the ark of the Lord carried around the city, circling it once. Then the army returned to camp and spent the night there.
12 Joshua got up early the next morning and the priests took up the ark of the Lord. 13 The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the Lord and blowing the trumpets. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the Lord, while the trumpets kept sounding. 14 So on the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. They did this for six days.
15 On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. 16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! 17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted[a] to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. 18 But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. 19 All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.”
20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.
22 Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her. 23 So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother, her brothers and sisters and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel.
24 Then they burned the whole city and everything in it, but they put the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the Lord’s house. 25 But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho—and she lives among the Israelites to this day.
26 At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath: “Cursed before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:
“At the cost of his firstborn son
    he will lay its foundations;
at the cost of his youngest
    he will set up its gates.”
27 So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.

Everyday Ambassadors

I was reading an article about how we are to act and who we should be as children of God in the work place.   I have read this for a second time because things get so tough in the work place.  People are not honest.  People do and say things that should not be.  You also encounter at times working hard and getting nowhere with managers and those in high positions.  We go to work and work hard so that it pays off.  We go into our jobs doing our job and sometimes going beyond because of who we are.  The questions is when man does not do what we want them to do, do we still have ourselves together.  I have experienced before working really hard only to be overlooked.  I have been a team player, told to do this and I am headed in the right direction, only to be disappointed.  I have been through that.  It hurts, it bothers, and sometimes you want to give up on what you desire.  The good news is that we have a guide, we have someone who's name is higher than any name that we are working for and representing.  I found this article that talks about how we as Christians are everyday ambassadors.  It is awesome and I have found myself having to read this more than once.  The workplace can be though and this will truly bless you.  Don't ever give up on a dream or goal just because man has denied you, or there is a delay.  The bible tells us that "whatever our hands find to do, do it with all your might or heart".  Ecc. 9:10  Please enjoy this article from In touch with Charles Stanley.  Click on Link below.
