When Things are Silent

Ever wonder why it seems that  God is silent at times?  Sometimes we think that when God is silet he is not working.  When we are in trouble, things are often times silent and it seems longer than it should be that God has not stepped in yet.  We worry about why we have not yet received our healings, deliverance, and blessings.  It is really tough during the silent times.  We are anxious, nervous, demanding, complaining, scared, fearful, but we have to know that with God there is an appointed time for everything.  I can sit here and tell you all the blessings he will do for you.  But today I want to share what to do while you are waiting.  How are you behaving while you are waiting.

The word of God in Ecclesiatstes. 3 tells us there is a time for everything.
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

How you behave while you are waiting determines your outcome.

There are plenty of people in the bible that really had to wait on God in the times of Trouble.  Consider Sara and Abraham . He was promised something that did not seem like it would ever happen.  But it did.  But while Abraham was waiting he kept the faith.  The bible says that Abraham "hoped against hope".  He did not wavery in his faith".

Consider Job, He had so much happen but he did not curse God or loose his faith.

Consider the three friends in the firey furnance.   (Daniel 3:19)

We have to be like then when we are faced with Trials and when we think God is silent and not working that is when he is actually working.

Read Genesis 16 to learn what not to do when you are waiting.

What are you doing while you waiting?

Hebrews 10:35

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.   For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
