Joyce Meyer Conference 2012 Making Good Habits Breaking Bad Ones

I had such a wonderful time at the Joyce Meyer Conference 2012 here in Tampa, Fl. last night  I had an awesome time.  I was excited the moment I heard she was coming here and It was worth all the waiting.  The message was Making Good Habits and Breaking Bad ones.  Such practical teaching and I was excited because God has gifted me in the area of teaching and I believe that I have learned so much from her practical teaching and have been able to grow.   The worship was awesome by Fuse!  They are such a great band and worship group.   Running to your arms, Your Grace is enough so many more songs by them.   The three habits we learned about was
1. Habit of Excellence how to operate in excellence.  She gave such practical teaching on this one!  I laughed and thought to myself these things are so true but are things we much change in order for the big things to change in our lives we must start with the little things, like putting your shopping cart back where they go, and putting the things you decide not to buy back in the proper place rather than leaving bread with deodorant is leaving a mess for someone else to pick up.
2. Habit of being responsible.  Not making excuses all the time and take responsibility, and take ownership for our actions.  That we should stop blaming everyone else and it keeps us in bondage when we do not take responsibility!
3. Habit of  generosity.  We should love to give and give freely.  Even when you think someone may not need it if it is on your heart to give, give and not debate with yourself about it.   If you take care of God's business he will take care of yours.  Think of all the things we get back when we are generous.  We are healed when we are generous.

I learned so much and had a 2-3 pages of notes.   Please be on the look out for Joyce's Conferences in your area.  You will have an awesome night or weekend that you will not forget!  Here are some quotes from Joyce last night.

Excellence does not mean perfect but to give God our best
2peter 1:3
2 Corinthians 5:20
Taking what you have and doing the very best you can with it. Philippians 1:10
Stop living for people!
Colossians 3:23-24
Follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

God Keeps his word so we should keep our word.  God Promotes excellent people.
If you can keep a commitment let someone know that you mis managed your time or that you can't do it.  Don't just ignore it like it is not there.

Excuse is the reason not to be responsible
1 timothy 5:4
Stop praying and asking God to do things for people that you can do yourself.

Stop letting the enemy do your thinking.

Matthew 5:6 scripture also was one given out at the meeting.

Here are some images from the Live Worship with FUSE!!!!!!! They were great!

I worshiped God and just love how I got to spend time on a Friday night with God With a room full of believers.

Here is Joyce preparing for the teaching.

What makes these conferences worth it was that so many people stood up and gave their life to God and now are in the family of God!  That is what is most important out of everything we do for him  Souls being saved!  I hope you enjoyed my recap of last night's event and I pray that when she is in your town or city you will be able to make it.  This is my second one and they are great each time.

God Bless,

Halloween or No Halloween?

Since the month of October came in and Halloween is the topic of the month, a lot of people ask that question do you celebrate Halloween?  Why or Why Not are the questions.  If you are trying to figure out what you really think about Halloween as a christian.  I found a great resources with stories and opinions of those that are Christians of why they may celebrate.  Also for those that may come across this site and wonder why Christian choose to not celebrate, you can get some insight.  It gives the history of Halloween the Orgin of it, and about some other things about what is celebrated by some on this date.  I thought this was great and I am glad I am a member of many different resources that I can provide for you all.  I recommend having a cup of hot tea or cocoa and just read over some of this info and stories.  Even if you don't agree with some of them, it is great information.  I hope you enjoy and please leave any comments for discussion if you have any.

As for me and my family I like to take the kids to the local church to a fall festival.  They play bible games, hear bible stories, hear christian music, along with Food, cotton candy, snow cones, bounce houses pictures and most of what kids love Candy.  Some kids do dress in costumes that are not scary but my family does not.  We go and enjoy a safe night of fun with activities centered around God.  I get excited each year this time and it is our alternative.  My thoughts are for you to pray and ask God what to do concerning this time of the year.  God will not steer you wrong.  Have a great Evening.

Effecitve Prayer

I want to talk today about effective prayer.  It is so important prayer life, but even more important that it is an effective prayer life.  Prayer is one of the most effective ways to communicate with God.  It allows us to express our issues, concerns, dreams, hopes, love and devotion toward God and his word.  While prayer is a command, and his promises are true, there are some things we should know about prayer.  Along with things we should know we are going to talk about Elijah.  Elijah was a man that prayed.  He was appointed king of Israel and while God had given him instructions, he had somethings along the way that he had gone through that required him to pray.  I use him as our example today because He was king during a time when the people were worshiping a god called Baal.  People including those that knew God were Turning towards this god.  Why?  Because they stopped praying.  They stopped seeking God's face.  As stated earlier Prayer is our conversation with God.  Talking with him.  Consulting with him.  As long as we stay in constant prayer with God, we will always have his ways and thoughts in our minds.  So Elijah was sent there to turn these people back to God.   In Elijah's prayer it was powerful and turned many people back to God.  God Heard his prayer was please and answered him.  I recommend reading all of Elijah's story in 1 Kings.

1 Kings 18:36

At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

39 When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!”

40 Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.

Elijah was a man of great faith in God and had a rock solid prayer life.  He also prayed that a widow's son live and he was brought back from the dead. ( 1 kings 17:17-23)  He prayed to God and God answered him.  Why did God answer him?  Elijah had a few things in order, that we must have in order to have an effective prayer life.

1.  Our prayers will not be answered unless we have a sincere, true faith. ( Mark 11:24)
2. Authority in prayer is in Jesus' name. ( Jn 14:13-14)  We must pray in his name.  It is in him name that our mourning is turned into dancing.  It is his name that we have healing and peace.  It is in his name that we are saved and set free!
3. Prayer is effective when it is in harmony or agreement with God's word ( 1 Kings 18:1)
4. We must also be living in harmony with God's will if we expect him to answer, also pray in agreement.  Only when we seek him first and his kingdom. (Matthew 6:33) ( 1Jn 3:22) A God fearing and obedient life( Elijah)
5. We must be persistent in prayer and faith for our prayers to be effective. ( Luke 18: 1-7)  (Matthew 7:7-8).
When Elijah received the prophetic word that rain was coming he still persisted in prayer until the rain came ( 1 kings 18:41-45) .

Activate your prayer life today and make it effective!

Father God I pray that you help us in our efforts to continue to communicate with you.  you so desire that conversation with us that relationship and friendship.  Help us to understand your word  that you give us and to apply it to our life.  you are so awesome!  Thank you for your faithfulness in answering our prayer.  I claim that I have an effective prayer life!  I thank you for enabling me to have such a wonder tool to use to be more strong in you.  In Jesus name I pray Amen.

Checking Your Attitude Devotional 10/8

Thought I would share this.  Very Insightful!

Checking Your Attitude

By Jim Burns
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:2-4
A confederate soldier in the midst of some very trying circumstances wrote the words below. I don't know who he was or where he learned this incredible principle of life, but I offer it to you today as one of the secrets of a fulfilled life. Personally, I read this poem often, and I call it my attitude check.

I asked God for strength that I might achieve. I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked God for health that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing I asked for but everything I had hoped for....

Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among all men most richly blessed.*

Thrusday Devotional

I call Upon the Lord , who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.  Psalm 18:3

If you are saved praising and worshipping the lord is an important part of our fellowship with the Lord.  What a great gift we have been freely given by the Lord Jesus Christ.

You can praise your way out of trouble, you can praise him when he has taken you out of it also. You can praise your way out of circumstances, fears, and doubts.  It only makes you Strong!  David Danced himself out of his clothes.  He clothes were a symbol of baggage, things holding him down, things keeping him bogged down and out of sync with God.  But he decided to dance his way out!!!!  Like our troubles and problems keep us bogged down, let's stop that train today.  He is worthy and he saves you from your enemies!!!
