Living for God; Let Him Shape And Mold You

Isaiah 64:8
Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

1 Peter 4:1-3

Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

This scripture is based on living for God.  Sometimes we do not understand it but living for him is letting him shape and mold you until you are perfect.  God says that we are made perfect, that one day we will be perfect.  You can live for God.  When you decided to say YES to God that meant you are were saying NO to the world and the world system.  If you are still doing the things listed in the scripture alone then you are not living for God.  Living for him is not simply believing that he exist or even just thinking of him occasionally.  Living for God is praying when you don't want to, singing when  you don't want to, Praising and Worshiping when you do not want to.  It even means trusting when you don't want to.  Trusting is a big one because it is so easy to say we trust God but when it comes down to actually trusting him we fail!  The bible says that we have spent enough time before Christ doing evil, doing the things we did while in the world.  We are children of the most high God, allow God to re shape and mold your thinking, your mindset on how you should handle situations.  He is faithful to help  you.  Take a look at the Potter and the Wheel above.  Notice how it is carefully held with support and with care.  Knowing that what he is making is very precious and unique.  The one very best thing about the potters wheel is that it can start over and over again if there is not something right.  When you fall short he can take it smash it down and start back over making something beautiful.  The very best kind of love is loving when your  at your most ugliest time.  Some of us today are torn down and feel we are at our most ugliest time in our life.  Think about when the clay is smashed and torn down it takes no time for the potter to bring it back up again and make something beautiful.  You have to be willing to let the one you said you are living for  work, shape and mold you into more that you ever dreamed to be!

My story of redemption, and restoration back to my God was when I was in a place of unhappiness. I was in a dark place facing the pit alone. Each day the pit god deeper and deeper. I attended church regularly, worked a little in the ministry, prayed, read my bible and sang songs but I was so unhappy.  I did not know what to do with myself.  I did not know how to change it, how to gain control over it.  I had always had control of my life and this was one thing I could not kick.  It was not until I had an unfourtuate run in with a medication that made me very ill that I learned that I have to live completely for God and that I had to give everything of the world up.  I had a desire to be in control of everything around me because of what I had been through and I had to do so much as a child.  But when I decided to become the clay and let the potter do what he need to do I was set free.  It was in that time, those months that I learned that I had to show that I was truly living for God.  I did not want to put my whole complete trust in someone else.  I wanted to do it myself.  I said I was living for God but I had not done all the neccessary actions that showed I was truly living for God. I had traces of my old self active and moving around.  When I decided to Live for God for real my life was completely changed.  I still have struggles but living for God is not one of them.  Living my old life when I have been given a new one is not one of them.  Let God shape and mold you he can do it, he is the maker and creator of all things.  I pray this teaching is of help to you and can give you some insight as to what it means to live for God.   God Bless You!
