It's In The Struggle

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would.
Galatians 5:17 KJV 2003

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

How many of you find it hard to stay positive when things are going wrong?  When you are facing temptation there is a tug of war going on of spirit and flesh.  No one likes these times.  Especially when we are believers we forget that we are going to have struggles.  We are going to have times when we are faced with really tough decision and those tough decisions are to not give in to your flesh and to be obedient.  Its the struggle!  It's the struggle that cause us much pain and affliction.  What is your struggle today?  Is it struggling to take a position that you know may not be in the best interest for you but the money is good?  Is it spending less time on your hobbies to spend more time with God.  Is it re-programming your mind to think like Christ when faced with situations?  I am here to let you know that this thing called life is not always easy.  Sometimes it is really hard to put to practice everything you learn in the word of God, and in bible studies etc.  But we have to.  It is so important what you do when you are in the struggle.  It is in the struggle when we most time learn lessons.  It is in the struggle when we learn to trust God, and his ways.  The bible says that his ways are not our ways. It is in the struggle when we learn that we fell short on somethings and need to ask for forgiveness and repent. 

I have leaned that when I make a mistake sometimes I have to  sit in it for awhile, boy that is not fun at all.  It hurts, its painful, sometimes lonely, stressful, and aggravating.  It is so hard to exercise faith when so many emotions are happening at once.  The key is that we have to.  No matter what we have to be able to while in the struggle rise from our feelings and trust GOD!!!  Praise him more, Worship him more in prayer, our time, our service, our love and devotion.  When we do these things that is where the healing takes place.  The apostle Paul said he had a thorn in his flesh.  that thorn seemed to never go away.  Meaning he has a problem that he dealt with constantly.  He prayed for God to take it away but it always seem to be there.  Sometimes it was more noticeable that other times but with his faith he was able to fight through it.  Paul realized at some point that, the very thorn is what kept him committed to the things of God.  It is in his struggle that kept him humble, made him love and serve God more.  So as it was for him, so it can be for you.  Your struggle can very well be what saves you.  We have to continue to work out our own salvation.  God's grace and mercies renew every morning.  Instead of being sad on your struggle rejoice in it today.  Be proud and happy that your struggle is getting you closer to God.  He will deliver you in his perfect timing.

Thurdsay Devotional

Matthew 11:20-24
20 In the morning, when they were passing along, they noticed that the fig tree was withered [completely] away to its roots.

21 And Peter remembered and said to Him, Master, look! The fig tree which You doomed has withered away!

22 And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly].

23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.

24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].  Amplified Version

The power of Faith is amazing.  Although we forget at times that we possess the power to activate the impossible by trusting God,  It is available and does not run out.  This faith can work anytime we proactively decide to do it.  When things seem like it's in the pits, or everything around you screams discouragement we have to know that we possess a power from on high to speak and believe what we need into existence.   Just wanted them to know this.  He needed them to know that he can't force anything upon people but it is when we believe, trust, and say what we need.  ACTION is what is needed.  Not sitting there dwelling on it, complaining but actively trusting God as the scripture stated.   Now we can't go around having great faith aside from God but it is having faith in him.  He has the keys to everything we need.  The things we are asking for he has it. The ability to be who he called us to be, the ability to be great mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, wives.  He is waiting for us to activate our faith and speak into the atmosphere what we need, and desire.  As long as we stay connected to the vine we can be sure to be strong and courageous.  I hope this Devotional bless you this day.

June 7th Devotional

Romans 8:31-39

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

 “For Your sake we are killed all day long;

We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”[a]

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Being Healthy Teaching

I Created something for my Church Womens Group to help us get on the right track to good health while studying the proverbs 31 Woman.  God gave me some scriptures to help with this along with other info that has helped me and sone research I have done on my own to sta healthy.  This Proverbs 31 woman did so many things and she really could only be successful by God Grace and a healthy body.  Please read this and be blessed.

Today we are going to speak out being healthy.  God needs his people to be in good health in order to do what we need to do for his kingdom.   As for the woman, we were created to be a helpmate and therefore we need to be in good health to help take care of our spouses and children, overall to be a blessing to those we come in contact with.

The Health of Your Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:22-23

You can’t be physically healthy if your spirit is not healthy.  God breathe life into a empty vessel his spirit.

Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.1 Corinthians 3:16-17

The proverbs 31 woman could not be all that she was unless she had the fruits of the spirit and considered her body as the temple of God. 

The Health of you physical body

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.  Psalms 139:13-16

He worked on your body alone.  He made everything perfect.  He made you where you could prosper and live a good life.   He did not wonderfully make something bad.  He wonderfully made you good, whole and complete.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.   Genesis 1:27

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.  3 John 1:2

Promise from the bible about our health

But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.  Isaiah 53:5

Here are a list of healthy foods that have helped me during my struggle with eating right and I got it from the book of Daniel.  Daniel 10:3

Daniel ate only foods from the ground and the bible said that he was more younger looking than those that ate the choice foods.  This information can be used for fasting and more so to add more healthy foods to your diet.  If you have health issues where it will not be best to complete abstain from food during a fast doing the Daniel fast will be perfect.  There are so many healthy foods that are considered the foods that Daniel ate because they came from the ground.

All vegetables. These can be fresh, frozen, dried, juiced or canned. Vegetables include but are not limited to artichokes, asparagus, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chili peppers, collard greens, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, ginger root, kale, leeks, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, okra, onions, parsley, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, scallions, spinach, sprouts, squashes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, watercress, yams, zucchini, veggie burgers are an option if you are not allergic to soy.

All whole grains, including but not limited to whole wheat, brown rice, millet, quinoa, oats, barley, grits, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat tortillas, rice cakes and popcorn.

All nuts and seeds, including but not limited to sunflower seeds, cashews, peanuts, sesame. Also nut butters including peanut butter.

All legumes. These can be canned or dried. Legumes include but are not limited to dried beans, pinto beans, split peas, lentils, black eyed peas, kidney beans, black beans, cannellini beans, white beans.

All quality oils including but not limited to olive, canola, grape seed, peanut, and sesame.

Beverages: spring water, distilled water or other pure waters.

Other: tofu, soy products, vinegar, seasonings, salt, herbs and spices.

Foods that You should limit in your daily diet or avoid if doing the Daniel Fast

All meat and animal products including but not limited to beef, lamb, pork, poultry, and fish.

All dairy products including but not limited to milk, cheese, cream, butter, and eggs.

All sweetenersincluding but not limited to sugar, raw sugar, honey, syrups, molasses, and cane juice.

All leavened bread including Ezekiel Bread (it contains yeast and honey) and baked goods.

All refined and processed food products including but not limited to artificial flavorings, food additives, chemicals, white rice, white flour, and foods that contain artificial preservatives.

All deep fried foods including but not limited to potato chips, French fries, corn chips.

All solid fats including shortening, margarine, lard and foods high in fat.

Beverages including but not limited to coffee, tea, herbal teas, carbonated beverages, energy drinks, and alcohol.

As with eating health you should also exercise.

You should work out atleast 3 days out of a 7 day week.

30min Cardio

This burns calories, salt, and keeps your heart beating health.  Health Disease is the #1 killer in women.   If you have high blood pressure and that is it without any other associated health problems, you can get rid of it by a good diet and exercise.   We can discuss these, please ask questions.  Studies show that the foods we eat are the main cause for the health issues we face today in America.  I hope this bless you the way it has blessed me.
