Transforming God

Today I would like to talk about Transformation.  Spiritual Transformation is something that is an important topic because we have to be transformed in order to successfully walk this Christian walk.   There was much trandformation being done in the bible and for some it happened right away and for others it took a long while.  For the apostle Paul, once he realized that killing Christians was not the thing to do and when he had an encounter with God on the road to Damacus He was transformed.  He got his stuf together right away and he was on his way.  He was on fire for God after that.  I love the Apostle Paul and I study him a lot because he was truely transformed by God.  He allowed God to do whatever he needed to do in him to make his right and to get him on the path and calling that God had for him.   The Main scripture I will be using is Galatians 2:20  I have been Crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

Paul was transformed.  He knew that he was dead and that he was totally living for Chirst on the Transforming Power of God and his Holy Spirit.  He had made a decision to Crucified his flesh and that he was under the spirits power.

Given this example of transformation have you been transformed?

I can remember the time in my life when I was totally transformed and I realized that all the other time I thought I was I really was not.

  • Being transformed means you are totally Free.
At that time in my life I was not totally free.  Yes I gave my life to Christ and I believed that he had died for my sins but for years I struggled with all the things I should not have.

Anger, Brokenness, unforgivness, grudges, complaining etc.  I could not shake those things.  I thought at one point that I would not be able to shake this.  I had not been transformed.

  • Your Savior had to be transformed and so do you.
When Jesus made it to the place where he was to start his Ministry, he had to be baptized.  When he went in to the water God was transforming him into the Savior.  He told him this is my son in who I am well Pleased. Matthew 3:16  He had to be transformed to do the ministry work he had came for.

He was also transformed when he took Peter, James and John along with him onto a high mountian and there before them transformed.Mark 9:2-8  Matthew 17:1-8 - Luke 9:28-36 - Mark 9:9-13.  He had to prepare himself for the Cross.

In order to endure the trials, tribulation, sufferings, and tempatations of this world we must be transformed.

Sometimes we think that we have it all together and that we are transformed when we really are not.  Sometimes we don't immediately be transformed like Paul and it may take awhile.  Let's look at Peter.  Jesus tried to warn him about thinking he had it all together when he really doesn't.  When Jesus told him that he would deny him three times he said no Lord I would never do that.  Did he love Jesus?  Yes he did.  He just had not been transformed.  Before he knew it he had denied Jesus and when he realized it he wept.  John 18.  He realized that he was not all that he though he was.  Once he realized that he was not up to part he was then transformed and the bible talks about how people wanted Peter to just walk by and they thought they would be healed just if he passed them.  Acts 5:15 So that they bought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.

Now that is a transforming God!  He took Flesh and Crucified it made it no longer the Flesh that lived by Chirst that was in peter.

Think about who you were before you were transformed.  If you are not sure you have been transformed just think of if you have let go of all acts of the sinful nature and you are living as Paul, Peter and Jesus did.  Are you depending on Christ and trusting in God for your life.

God Bless
