Bible Study Teaching on Overcoming Fear Joyce Meyer

Today's teaching has come from one of the Christian Women that has inspired me so much.  I knew when God gave me the gift to teach and I has so much in me that I was about to explode.  When I began watching her teachings on TV I said to myself that is me.  I saw myself in her, I saw what she was doing and the way she taught was the same way God gifted me.  I know that I have been called to be a bible teacher and Joyce has taught me so much about being you and not comforming to what others do but simply do what he has called "you" to do.  Joyce has taught me so much about the mind and how to control it.  I sometimes teach about the mind because I know on a personal level how I had to overcome my own mind. She not only tell you what to do but she shows you how.  I would not be the woman of God I am today without Joyce's teachings.  She has saved me in some ways.  I go to bed a lot of nights listening to her teach.  She has such wisdom from God and I have been to her conferences held where I live.  I thank God for her.  Today I want you to read this teaching by Joyce Meyer about the mind.  You will be blessed by it and don't hesitate to check out her site.  You can get a lot of her teachings on Podcast, I have about 20 of them on podcast.  When I am at work in one ear I have Joyce teaching me about my mind.  I am currently reading her book Power Thoughts.  Please enjoy and ask any questions you may have on this teaching.  I have learned from the best.

Overcoming Fear by Joyce Meyer
First, let me remind you that fear is not from God but from Satan. Second Timothy 1:7 says, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Every time you feel fear in your life, it's a manifestation of the kingdom of darkness. I often say in my teachings that fear is the "master spirit." It's the spirit Satan uses to try to rule God's people and keep them from coming under the leadership of the true Master, Jesus Christ.

Multitudes of people never fulfill the call of God on their lives simply because every time they try to go forward, the devil uses fear to stop them. Is he using fear to stop you? Satan uses fear to keep people from enjoying life. Fear brings torment, according to 1 John 4:18, and you surely can't enjoy life and be tormented at the same time.
I want to encourage you to take an inventory in the fear department. What are you afraid of? Are there any areas in your life that are being stifled because of fear? Satan is always going to bring fear against us at various times. It’s one of his major weapons—not a cap gun, but a cannon. The thing we all must learn is how not to "fear the fear." The devil brings fear, but you can choose not to bow your knee to it. David said,"What time I am afraid, I will…trust…in You" (Psalm 56:3). I believe we can say that when God leads you to step out in an area to do something new, or leads you to make a bigger commitment, you may (or probably will) feel fear. However, if you're sure God told you to do it, put your trust in Him and go forward.
I have to apply this same principle to my life all the time. Years ago, we realized that we really needed more office space. At the same time, we needed more employees, which would require more desks, computers, phones, etc. We had a choice. We had prayed for growth so we could help more people. And everything did increase—resource orders, speaking engagements, incoming phone calls, mail, etc. It was God's timing, and He was moving. We had to make a decision to either stand still in fear or move with God. If we had not been willing to rent more space and hire more people, we couldn’t have kept up with the growth. I can tell you for sure that fear tried to stop me. I heard things like, "Joyce, you're getting in over your head." "That's too much money to spend." "What if the increase doesn't continue?" I'm sure you know the recording; you've probably heard it also.
We certainly don't want to move in the flesh or out of God's timing, but when God is moving, you can't be afraid to move with Him. In the situation I described to you, I had a choice to be led by my head or follow the leading of my spirit. Satan brings fear to your mind and emotions. You may even physically shake, but let the Holy Spirit lead you. Don't fear the fear, and what time you're afraid, trust in Him.
Some common fears are fear of lack, death, loneliness, people, authority, commitment, heights, germs, closed-in spaces, airplanes, dogs, cats, failure, rejection, being laughed at, and even fear of being attractive. We went to the library and got a typed list of known phobias—it was four pages long. It even included phobaphobia, which is the fear of being afraid. It seems that the list is endless.
It convinced me even more of how extensive Satan's work is in this area. Isaiah 41:10 says, Fear not, for I am with you. I believe God works gently with us to bring us out of bondage and into liberty. If you've been afraid of something and desire to be free, the time will eventually come when you'll have to face your fear and not run away from it. Just take Jesus' hand, acknowledge that He is with you, and do it. If you're afraid of people with authority, the time will come when you'll have to confront an authority figure and not cower in fear. God will have arranged the time. He'll be there, but you'll have to choose whether to go through or run away.
If you're at one of these crossroads in your life, let me encourage you to go forward. Don't stand still in terror, but take His hand and go forward. Remember, fear torments and God wants to deliver you from all of your fears.

Monday July 25th Devotional

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
1Corinthians 15:58

I have this scripture as one of my scriptures for the work place.  This scripture got me on my way this morning and gave me a positive perspective on a Monday morning.  Mondays are always the hardest put I was lifted and encouraged by this scripture.  We know that in the work place there are always demands from us and some that are unreasonable and some that are just a pain to tackle.  But God tells us to be strong, be immovable...and know that nothing we do is in vain.

So many people want so much from us, although one day they are happy with us and the next they are not we can do what this scripture says to do.  I remember at one time in my life moving to other peoples actions and thoughts of me.  If they had a problem with me then what was a good day will trun bad because I was moving with their feelings and actions.  I can only imagie if I moved each time my family member, friend or even spouse, had a crazy though for the day or started to think irrationally, I would be crazy and bi-polar by choice.  But I have decided to make this scripture apart of my daily walk.  You do the same today also.

No Matter What, No Matter Who!

Three Men in the fiery Furnace

Daniel 3:10-11

You, O king, have made a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn flute,e harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the gold image and whoever does not fall down and worship the gold image, and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Daniel 3: 13

Then Nebuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to bring shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.  So they brought these men before the king.  Nebuchadnezzar spoke saying to them is it true shadrach, meshach and abed-nego that you do not server my gods or worship the god image which I  have set up?

Daniel 3: 16  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.  IF that is the case our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us from your hand, Oking.  But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.

I wanted to break down those particular scriptures because they show how situations start where you are going to have to make a decision.  These men were faced with a difficult decision.  While it was easy they were faithful to God, They were serving God and everything was going well.  Then these men were faced with a dilemma.  The king that they were working for and that the king had set them over the affairs of the providence had built this huge image made of gold and all the finer things.  Not only did he build this image, he wanted everyone to bow down and worship this image as a god.  This image meant so much to him that whoever did not worship it was to be cast into a burning fiery furnace.

I know we have all been there and if not yet you will.  But your Christan walk was going great no major issues, serving God was easy and then boom! Something came up that may cause for panic or a moment to say what am I going to do?

These men once confronted and it was made known that they were not going to worship that image of gold. they stuck to their guns.  They knew the consequences no matter what no matter who they knew that if they loved God and were men of God they could not worship this image of gold.  We have to do this in our lives.  As women of faith we are faced with all sorts of situations that cause for a decision to be made and if we are going to do the right thing.  As a Christan woman you are not married yet but are dating and your body wants that sexual contact but you know what the bible says about Fornication.  what will you do?   Maybe you are married and you and your husband have been having a lot of difficulty for years and it seems that things are not going to get better because he is an unbeliever, you would rather divorce because it has been going on for so many years and he is still not serving the Lord and you rather not deal with it anymore.  What would you do?   Maybe for the unmarried christian woman he says to you he is thinking about breaking up because of the no sex until marriage policy is not working.  maybe for that married christian woman he continues to make your life harder and harder by his unbelief, decisions about  giving, going to church events, and trusting God, are just not on the same page and he does not want to do those things and do want to force the kids to either.

What decision will you make?  Just like the fiery furnace the decision you know is right, and is right because of your relationship with God may lead to breakup or a little more trials and tribulations.  Will you make that right decision anyway?

Those three men did.  They knew the consequences of choosing God but they did not care because they loved God more than themselves.  Those men told the king that we are not going to consult you in this matter, we are not going to bow down and worship anything that is not like God and do whatever you need to do.  This is the same approach that we need to take on our everyday situations.  They knew and said that God was going to save them.

No matter who and no matter what we must always stay faithful and true to God.  So many times we let the things of the world stop us from doing what God tells us to do.  We want what is in the world so much that we are sometimes willing to give us God for it.   Maybe it is a Job, Children, spouse, finances or whatever it may be, we cannot allow those things to take dominance in our lives.  No matter what happens we must always to what is right. These Men did and when they were thrown in the furnace God delivered them from it without any burns.  You can win the battles!  God can bring you out unharmed but you must trust in him.  The same way they were ultimately over comers and were successful,  you have to do so in the same way.  Here is how

Stay focused on God before a situation even arises.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:2 NIV
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.  Joshua 1:8 NIV

Do not be afraid to do what is right, God has your back.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16  NLT
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Philippians 4:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8

Knowing who God is and what he can do for you can help you stand up against people and test in your life. God wants all of us to do well in this life and does not want us to be overcome by sin.  We do not have to go along with this just because it seems that all will be lost if we do not.  It is more important to not loose God than stuff or relationships that are not any good for us in the first place.

Transforming God

Today I would like to talk about Transformation.  Spiritual Transformation is something that is an important topic because we have to be transformed in order to successfully walk this Christian walk.   There was much trandformation being done in the bible and for some it happened right away and for others it took a long while.  For the apostle Paul, once he realized that killing Christians was not the thing to do and when he had an encounter with God on the road to Damacus He was transformed.  He got his stuf together right away and he was on his way.  He was on fire for God after that.  I love the Apostle Paul and I study him a lot because he was truely transformed by God.  He allowed God to do whatever he needed to do in him to make his right and to get him on the path and calling that God had for him.   The Main scripture I will be using is Galatians 2:20  I have been Crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

Paul was transformed.  He knew that he was dead and that he was totally living for Chirst on the Transforming Power of God and his Holy Spirit.  He had made a decision to Crucified his flesh and that he was under the spirits power.

Given this example of transformation have you been transformed?

I can remember the time in my life when I was totally transformed and I realized that all the other time I thought I was I really was not.

  • Being transformed means you are totally Free.
At that time in my life I was not totally free.  Yes I gave my life to Christ and I believed that he had died for my sins but for years I struggled with all the things I should not have.

Anger, Brokenness, unforgivness, grudges, complaining etc.  I could not shake those things.  I thought at one point that I would not be able to shake this.  I had not been transformed.

  • Your Savior had to be transformed and so do you.
When Jesus made it to the place where he was to start his Ministry, he had to be baptized.  When he went in to the water God was transforming him into the Savior.  He told him this is my son in who I am well Pleased. Matthew 3:16  He had to be transformed to do the ministry work he had came for. 

He was also transformed when he took Peter, James and John along with him onto a high mountian and there before them transformed.Mark 9:2-8  Matthew 17:1-8 - Luke 9:28-36 - Mark 9:9-13.  He had to prepare himself for the Cross.

In order to endure the trials, tribulation, sufferings, and tempatations of this world we must be transformed.

Sometimes we think that we have it all together and that we are transformed when we really are not.  Sometimes we don't immediately be transformed like Paul and it may take awhile.  Let's look at Peter.  Jesus tried to warn him about thinking he had it all together when he really doesn't.  When Jesus told him that he would deny him three times he said no Lord I would never do that.  Did he love Jesus?  Yes he did.  He just had not been transformed.  Before he knew it he had denied Jesus and when he realized it he wept.  John 18.  He realized that he was not all that he though he was.  Once he realized that he was not up to part he was then transformed and the bible talks about how people wanted Peter to just walk by and they thought they would be healed just if he passed them.  Acts 5:15 So that they bought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.

Now that is a transforming God!  He took Flesh and Crucified it made it no longer the Flesh that lived by Chirst that was in peter. 

Think about who you were before you were transformed.  If you are not sure you have been transformed just think of if you have let go of all acts of the sinful nature and you are living as Paul, Peter and Jesus did.  Are you depending on Christ and trusting in God for your life.

When he Arrives

Today most of the United States of Americal celebrated the fouth of July.  Today was a great day not because of any holiday but because I got to spend time with my family.  The kids got to hang out with me because I have been working, and we got to do something fun.  Out of the blue my husband said to me let's take a ride.  So I stopped what I was doing and we found a great place not far from the house that had professional fireworks.  It was so amazing.  There were dozens of families out there with their seats, towel and sitting on the hood of their cars watching the fireworks.  While I was watching sometime during the show I thought about God.  I thought about the lights how they lit up the sky, and how beautiful it was.  I thought about when Jesus comes back.  I thought about how amazing his glorious light will shine in the sky, how he will come with the sound of a trumpet.  As each bang came and the Sky lit up with light, I thought of his Glorious Appearing.  I started just basking in his presence.

All the people will be watching looking up in the sky wondering where they wonderful light is coming from.  They will look up and see our Lord and Savior Arriving.  The fireworks were all the more beautiful because I was able to see God in it.
