One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. 2 He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
Going Deep into your walk with God requires you to go deep into your faith. Sometimes we are still way on the other side waiting for things to just happen for us. That job, the finances, the Children to get their act together or even family members to be saved. But today I would like to challenge your thinking and say maybe we have not gone out into the deep? Maybe our Faith is not deep to where we can fully get what God wants us to have. Consider your Money, you feel that you don't have what you need financially. You may not see yourself saving money at all. Consider if you are faithful in your tithing. Do you tithe according to what you have after you have paid all your bills and taken care of what you needed to take care of, or are your going deep in your faith and paying God his 10 percent before you have paid any of the bills you have? Are you doing what Malachi said to bring all your tithe into the storehouse. Or are you giving God your first fruit?
Consider Your daily activites, are you just barely having enough time to pray or study God's word to where you are rushing it through or falling asleep while reading and studying his word. Or are you going deep and waking up 30 min or and hour early to study his word and pray because once you start your day and by the end you know you will be tired and will not give him your all?
I am taking about going deep like Jesus told the two fishermen. You may feel like everyone around you are getting blessed by God but you are not. Like the two men while everyone else was listening to Jesus teach they were on the other side by themselves. Jesus wanted them to receive everything the others were receiving. He went to them and taught them his word and them he wanted them to act in the faith he was teaching them about. When he told them to throw their nets out they did not want to because they had done that probably hundreds of times that day and caught nothing! Simon said but because you said so I will let down my net. See Simon finally realized from fishing all day that he has no power to do anything that is worth something and it work with out Jesus! He now realized that the power is not in him or his net but in Christ. His faith is in Christ alone! Once he put his faith out into the deep they had enough to fill both boats. He wants you today to put out your faith into the deep! He wants you to go deeper in him so that you can catch what you were out searching for all night. He want you to have your hearts desires but your faith needs to go beyone the shallow of the water, it needs to go beyond what you can think, beyone what you think you know. We need to seek first his kingdom and all his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. The Finances you need to take care of your family, the saved loved ones you are praying for, the husband you are praying for, the children, the job it is all already there but you have not let your net deep enough! Jesus said put out into deep water.. He is telling you what you need to do. He was telling them to put your faith out into deep water. They came out successful and you will to if you do what Jesus told the two fishermen. I pray this blessed you because as I was writing this it has truly blessed me.
