Out with the Old In with the New!
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; Ephesians 4:22
Is there some attitude that you posess that you would like to get rid of? Is there something's from your past that you don't want to deal with anymore? Or are you wondering if your thoughts, feelings, and attitudes are right? Well most likely if you posessed these things when you were not a believer, and still deal with them today as a believer, chances are that you need to reguard or put off you former way of life. That is your thoughts, feelings towards things, and attitudes. Your old self is no longer excpetable to God. I was struggling with my past in some areas and I asked God are my feelings right? I got revelation with this scripture. Today spend time with God asking him to give you the strength of his Holy Spirit to put off your former way of life... to put off your old self. Think about it this way, if your former self was so good and all that you posess like your thoughts, feeling, desires, attitudes, then why did you come to God in the first place? That is a question to ask yourself and you will start to open up all the thoughts to when you wanted Christ into your life what were some of the things that were wrong that brought you to him. How do we live out what Ephesians 4:22 is saying.
1. Pray- tell him everything, he knows it anyway but he wants us to tell him leaving nothing out.
2. Study- After you pray you should get into the word so that God can begin to give you the answers through his word.
3. Meditate- Once we have talked to God, and opened his word, give him time to speak to you. Sometimes we are so busy talking and then once we finish we get up and go on about our day. Sit for awhile and let him speak back to you. It is not good being in a one sided conversation.
4. Practice- practice what you have learned, We have to put God's word to practice in order to benefit from it. It does us no good if we don't practice and excerise our faith and the instructions God has given us.
